PHASE SHIFT

At over 130 cm long, this drawing is necessary long to fully achieve the phasing effect of the colours, as the they fade from red to blue. Phase shift is made as an examination of our chromatic understanding of colour gradient, giving a defined, line by line, description of how colours interact with, and fade into each other.

Using the Organic matter process as a vehicle to examine the colour shift, the final form creates an intricately folded pleated and rippled surface, resembling forms seen in nature. No one knows how many lines make up the pattern of Phase shift… Nasa scientists are still calculating.
